You have a dream. It has been growing in your heart. You begin to feel excited and elated. You are starting to see how your dream can become a reality.

What is the first thing we do when this happens? We want to tell the world! Shout it from the rooftops! Call our family and friends to share in our excitement, our new begining.

Now, if you are lucky, your news and joy will be shared by those you confide in. They will rally behind you and offer you unconditional support. Count your blessings! For this is not always so....

For a lot of us, we are met with resistance and doubt. How could you possibly pull this off? You are wasting your time. It will never work. I could go on and on....

Try, as difficult as this may be, not to allow negative people or their own personal opinions to steal your thunder or your dreams. People mean well. They believe they are being helpful and above all else, realistic. In their minds, they are trying to protect you from failure and disappointment.

If you listen to them, begin to doubt yourself and your dreams, it is time to reevaluate things for a bit. There may indeed be some truth in what they say. But the real truth is, they may be the ones that are filled with their own fear and self doubt, who in turn do not posses the strength 0r the courage to take a leap of faith and become who they were destined to be.

Do not let others steal your dreams. Protect yourself, and do not allow the naysayers to stop you from following the path you know in your heart is yours to pursue.

Will you fail? Sometimes. Will you be diappointed? Sometimes. Will you move forward, learn from your mistakes and move on? Definitely!

Do not let fear steal your dreams. Do not let others steal your thunder. Do not be afraid to fail. If you allow these things to dictate your life, one thing is for sure, you will not only prevent yourself from making your own dreams a reality, you will prevent yourself from being who you, my friend are meant to be.

Above all else, be true to yourself, and listen to the whispers of your heart.
